Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York)

★★★★★ 'A flawless production' Observer

HE’S JUST ARRIVED.

SHE’S JUST THRILLED.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) became the talk of the town when it premiered at London's Kiln Theatre in 2023. Catch this new hit musical when it transfers to the West End's Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus this spring!

Dougal is a naive, impossibly upbeat Brit who's just landed in New York for his dad’s second wedding. The dad he’s never known. Waiting for him at the airport is Robin, the sister of the bride. She’s a native New Yorker, she’s late for work, and she doesn’t have time to stop and see the sights. Instant attraction? Nope. But with an extravagant wedding approaching and the Big Apple at their feet, anything could happen...

This intimate and refreshingly original show is one part "rom" and two parts "com", with a splash of culture clash. Two Strangers is the toast of 2024 - so book now, and remember the full title later.

Well written and performed excellently by the two stars. Great comedy with one liners and sarcastic retorts. The two strangers end up as friends because the father and the Sister do not want to know them. The songs fitted the situations of humour and despair . Would recommend a visit to the 150 year old Criterion Theatre for an enjoyable show.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but I laughed, felt the real emotion and loved the play. The music was great and the actors brilliant.

I saw the show yesterday with my husband. We absolutely loved it! It is funny, sweet and totally uplifting. Both actors brought their own character to life and the chemistry between them was built up during the show. I would go and see it again in a heartbeat.
