“Treat yourself to a slice of five-star musical pie” (The Times) as Lucie Jones (Les Misérables, Ghost the Musical, Legally Blonde) joins the cast of London’s hit musical comedy WAITRESS as Jenna, with Joe Sugg (Youtuber, Strictly Come Dancing star) as Ogie.
Meet Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of some happiness in her life. When a hot new doctor arrives in town, life gets complicated. With the support of her workmates Becky and Dawn, Jenna overcomes the challenges she faces and finds that laughter, love and friendship can provide the perfect recipe for happiness.
Brought to life by a ground breaking, female-led creative team, this “warm, witty, wise and hilarious” (Express) hit features “one of the best scores in years” (The Stage) by 7-time Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles (Love Song, Brave), a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and direction by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Pippin, Finding Neverland).
Slow start, but very entertaining overall. Excellent character portrayals and acting, very good singing. Funny with some u drying pathos. Not really any catchy tunes to take away.
Just an incredible show. Brilliant music and stunning performances. Enjoyed every single second of it.
One of the best shows I have ever seen. I laughed and cried. The singing was just amazing and of course the acting was second to none. I would certainly recommend this show to everyone Well done all 😍👏👊
Been to a lot of shows and was really looking forward to Waitress but it was very disappointing 🙁
It was a great show. Very uplifting and funny. A little bit risqué but as long as you're alright with that, it adds to the enjoyment. The recently new cast member Joe Sighs is great as the geeky character. In fact they're all great. One small complaint, not always easy to hear what some of the cast are singing.
Absolutely brilliant. Great acting and singing.
Good show, lots of laughs, definitely worth a visit
Absolutely brilliant entertainment.A mixture of fun and reality with Lucie Jones outstanding
Great! Worth a watch. Defo a girly show though, but very funny.
Not what we were expecting and unfortunately we considered leaving at the interval. Very crude and some of the scenes were so cringeworthy! The singing was excellent - the fault lies with the material they had to work with.
Amazing performance really enjoyed it, very funny.
Singing and acting excellent but would not suggest it is a musical as such as songs were really a sung script not memorable
That little tagline will be stuck as your earworm after the show. Really catchy score and great acting from the whole cast. I overheard many comments whilst here, some of which were making a comparison to Les. Mis etc. Its a totally unfair comparison in my opinion and whilst I love LM I also loved Waitress. Yes its much more superficial on the surface but we both came away feeling that great feeling that comes from a great bit of musical theatre.
Brilliant play, great singing, really funny, definitely see it again x
This is not just a typical London show but an experience from the moment you enter the theatre. There is not single weak link in the cast - performances are of the highest level and it might just be the funniest show in the theatre world right now. A 100% Must See Show.
We really enjoyed our experience at the Adelphi Theatre. Staff were welcoming and the show was very enjoyable.
Could not hear a word being sung because the music was so loud. Such a shame because they were singing their hearts out but when you don't know the show you need to be able to hear what they are singing so sadly very disappointing.
Amazing show, amazing cast, amazing music! I laughed and cried and loved every second. I would definitely recommend seeing it.
Such strong vocals - we loved it.
Funny, poignant, great choreography and singing!
I went to Waitress in August 2019 with my 2 daughters aged 16 and 18. It was a show my eldest daughter had always wanted to see. It totally lived up to her expectations. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show. We went to the stage door afterwards like we always do in Ireland. Unfortunately that night only 2 of the actors/actresses came out for pictures which was disappointing. I do understand that they all can't come out every night but a couple more would have been nice . In Ireland we normally get to see all of them. Well worth going to see.
What a wonderful show, amazing singing and so emotive! Fab eve out with my friends definitely worth a watch.
Really enjoyed it. Very funny but with some serious elements to it as well. Music was very good and some bits were a bit riske. Overall, We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent show great cast
It was very good theatre show.Nice performance, the tickets were ready to collect. The decoration of the theater was an excellent. The raw is long one ,it’s better if there is any path in the middle of it
Treated myself and my daughter to a matinée performance of Waitress , we absolutely loved it and will be telling our friends to book tickets .
Wow, we were slightly expecting the show to be good but not great - but we all absolutely loved it - witty, charming, triumphant, but also some sad, tender moments. We loved the songs, adored the humour, and the cast were terrific. Lucie Jones has a fabulous voice, and her harmonies work brilliantly with her 2 female chums, Dawn and Becky, but also with her love interest the Doctor. Blake Harrison is bonkers funny as Ogi too. Loved it.
One of the best shows I have ever seen!! Made me laugh, cry and smile!! Will definitely be coming back to see this show again!!
Cast were great, good vocals and humour . The storyline was a bit predictable and just lacked the extra spark .
I was very underwhelmed at this show , 2 of us went and both found it hard to understand what they were saying , due to over heavy accents and maybe poor sound ? Also could not always understand the words in the songs they were singing !! This is paramount in a musical in able to follow the story. Never had this at a musical before and I’ve been to hundreds ... so over all felt the show was very boring
Booked this show on the day for my boyfriends birthday...just want to to say WOW what a show..didnt know anything about this and loved every second..we laughed and cried...cast absoutely brilliant...a must see show xx
the singing was a bit off, some bits are funny others not. Nice enough evening but would rave about it.
Loved every second. Beautiful story, acting and singing. Would highly recommend
Waitress is one of the best musicals I have ever seen, it’s a well performed show, it’s hilarious, it makes you cry, you go through all the feels in this show. The cast are always amazing. I highly recommend & I can’t wait to go again(:
Enjoyable superb singers very clever set changes
We really enjoyed the storyline and the acting was superb. None of us knew the film. There are stunning individual performances in this show and I’d happily watch it again! The set design was so clever and the cast are slick. You could tell by the audience reaction that they all loved it at the end. A great night out.
What a great night out ! A brilliant show And so funny !! 😂 Amazing cast and great singing . Laughter & tears I want to see it again 😃
I didn't know what to expect when I booked tickets for Waitress. What I got was a show with great staging, choreography, singing and humour. A great night out that tugged at the heart strings and had me laughing out loud. A truly great show that I highly reccomend
One of the best musicals I've ever seen. We all loved it. Laugh out loud funny one minute, painfully sad at others. Great characters and amazing singing. Will be recommending to all my friends. Loved the orchestra being part of the whole performance, brilliant set changes. Want to save up and go again.
Good, fun show. Great singing from the lead (jul 2019) and a good cast overall. Most of the songs are catchy and whilst there are a couple of ‘fillers’ they are performed really well.
funny and touching
We didn’t know what to expect but went on our daughter’s recommendation. Seats in Row AA so had to look up but it wasn’t uncomfortable and it meant we could see all performers extremely well. The energy and passion of the three leads was amazing. A rollercoaster of emotions and I am not certain that I would take young children due to some of the content but we had a great night out.
Amazing production. Great cast. Lucie Jones was incredible.
It is an all round feel good production with equal amounts of laughter and tears! Would highly recommend!!! The singing was amazing and Lucie Jones has a truly amazing voice...... Blake Harrington was hilariously funny! The whole show is a piece of comedy genius
Very funny. Singing was amazing
Great show filled with laughs and tears. Female solidarity at its best :)
Totally blown away with the show!! Hysterical emotional!! Fantastic cast!! Such a great story!! Well deserved standing ovation 🙌
If you are in London and you like musicals this one shouldn’t be missed. The music is fantastic, the cast is great. It is uplifting and funny.
Always good to see a new musical ...thats not a juke box musical characters and story made a nice change to other musicals.Think this will be a grower in the coming years.
