You have been summoned for jury service...
A landmark new stage production of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution takes place in London County Hall, planting audiences right in the centre of this gripping story of justice, passion, and betrayal.
Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a widow in order to inherit her wealth, and the stakes are high: convince the jury – and the audience – of his innocence, or face the hangman’s noose. That is, after he’s survived the shocking witness testimony.
This production immerses the audience in a unique courtroom setting, complete with drama and intensity, on London’s Southbank.
See you in court.

What a fabulous show. The setting just makes the show so special, sitting in comfy leather chairs in a U shape around the action. When you first walk into the room it blows you away. The show itself is amazing. Well cast and so very well staged. Took my 11 year old son who loved it too. Cant reccomend this production enough.
Very good interpretation of the storey, really well acted, especially Lewis Cope, playing Vole - such emotion and expression during the trial scene.
Wonderful setting, with a great performance. Really was a great night.
We bought the tickets late, so got two with restricted view. However, that did not spoil our experience of the show. It was well done and the cast was impressive. Would recommend.
Stunning environment for the play - seats so roomy - felt like being in a courtroom. Brilliant acting from a all the legals - convincing! Loved interactive jury - left wondering if play has at least two or three possible endings. Highly recommended
Good acting. Great setting. Maybe the actors could speak a little louder. A fun evening. Definitely recommend.
An all together unique experience! The setting is amazing and so atmospheric being the old London Council Chamber oozing history, it feels like a privilege in itself to be seated there. The play itself superb, brilliantly cast and acted and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Highly recommended for a truly memorable experience.
You get right into this from the very start it feels like you are in the public gallery at a very real trial. We really loved it.. The only thing that was a bit weird in this day and age was Real cigarette smoking in an enclosed environment. I'm not complaining I'm an ex smoker myself but others might be offended
Excellent play - the venue and performance was fabulous
Fabulous venue and good cast made this a delight to watch. An archetypal Agatha Christie plot sprinkled with red herrings and quirky characters ensures that fans will not be disappointed.
Spectacular venue Totally immersive - up close and personal Stage acting at its very best and to include the audience (jury) was very clever. Wish I could watch it for the first time again
From beginning to end this play kept your attention. Excellent acting. Would come to see it again.
Amazing location and the best setting for this production. Cast great and I was kept on the edge of my seat. The ending, well you’ll just have to go see it 😉
Really worth seeing, must for all Agatha Christie fan by visiting London! Great place, just like on real trial!
I fully recommend this play - suitable for all ages. The setting in the County Hall is superb. We were up in the first row of the gallery which gave us a great perspective over the whole proceedings. And the court-like atmosphere is perfect for the play. It is a very traditional court-room drama and produced in a traditional way - but it was so well acted and directed that it was fresh, gripping and entertaining throughout. (Great to hear the unmistakable voice of Oliver Sterling from the Archers as the Judge!)
Great show - entertaining and full of twists.
It was amazing I usually fall asleep watching on television but this was so different Will be recommending Atmosphere was brilliant
The novelty wears off by the interval
Excellent , enjoyed every minute , so different being set where it was rather than a normal theatre setting on stage . All the cast where brilliant . Would recommend this price oh theatre to anyone
What an elegant setting for this play. Very atmospheric and luxurious. We sat in seats next to the stage so could see absolutely everything - even the whites of the actors eyes. A very accomplished performance I would highly recommend this
So inthralling, Highly recommended.
Loved the play but the actors were hard to hear, their voices were not loud enough. The microphones were not picking up very well. Everyone in our group (6 total) said they had difficulty hearing.
Great play, you fall into empathy quickly with the characters
Very good, professional presentation. The acoustics could have been better in the gallery.
Only one niggle, unfortunately the actress playing Romaine Vole spoke so quietly that we couldn’t hear most of what she said
It was a genius idea to use the magnificent County Hall chamber as a venue as it works perfectly for a courtroom drama. The cast are great and it is a wonderfully intimate and immersive experience. The play holds up well, especially if you do not know the story or have read the book. Great fun and well worth a look for an entertaining event.
Mind blown by this performance from the acting to the changing between scenes and how actors were incorporated into the set changes to the setting within the county hall and how the staging used all the areas. Just amazing!
Thoroughly enjoyed the show made even better by the grand and realistic setting The acting was excellent despite some difficulty hearing the dialogue when actors were not facing towards you
Excellent venue for a courtroom drama, great cast, great performances. You had to lean forward from the seats in the upstairs gallery, which made viewing slightly less comfortable.
The play, 'Witness for the Prosecution', was excellently acted out in a setting that involves everyone in the production, as you are part of the courtroom etc..... Everything was clearly spoken , and the way the actors moved around meant nobody was left out from the proceedings. Thank you, for a great performance, thoroughly enjoyed, and from my own facebook comments a friend is now wanting details to come and see it, I will show him by brochure and info leaflet. The setting, within the County Hall debating chamber was excellent and provided the right atmosphere. My only criticism is that the 'music' and associated sounds for the production at times was a little too loud and my hearing aids struggled to cope, causing me a headache afterwards.
Really good play, in a different venue!
FROM THE VERY START, THIS PLAY HAD ME GRIPPED. IT WAS A GREAT STORY, AND SO BRILLIANTLY ACTED. THE SETTING, THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ELECTRIC. EVEN THE SET CHANGES WERE DONE SO PROFESSIONALLY, SO WELL CHOREOGRAPHED. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
this is the second time i see the production and still enjoy it. both time i have chosen the cheapest seats and am really happy with the view and the performance.
A must see!
The show was a good plot and captured the audience. The actors were superb. The only negative was the refreshments, the coffee was undrinkable, like watery milk and staff not very helpful. I had to settle for instant decaffeinated coffee.
I would thoroughly recommend this to everyone, great performance, wonderful setting and lots of fun. Go on your own or go with friends; you won't be disappointed.
A high quality production in a very suitable venue. Teenage daughter really enjoyed it too. Not challenging to watch but held attention all through.
What a great venue for a courtroom drama! It really felt as if you were part of the action. Very clever scene changes meant it kept its pace and interest. Loved the view from the Central Gallery. A must see performance for Agatha Christie fans and those new to the genre too.
Small stage but marvelous design. If you sit on Jury box you can even participate in the play.
Superb production in stunning surroundings! A must see even if you’re not a theatre fan..
Fantastic setting fantastic performance. Great cast. Thoroughly enjoyable
Fantastic show! We loved it. The acting and the setting were superb. Felt like we were in a real courtroom trial. Thoroughly recommend the show
My twelve year old son and I had been looking forward to seeing this Christie classic in such authentic surroundings, and we were not at all disappointed. The courtroom is a spectacular setting, seats were considerably more comfortable than in the London theatres. It felt as if we were in a small, privileged audience, watching the story unravel in a most intimate setting. From the very first we were entranced and engaged in the characters' predicaments. My son was absolutely shocked by the ending, which I found extremely gratifying, and I enjoyed the manipulation of the audience despite knowing the story fairly well. There were absolutely no weak links in the cast. It was a triumph, and we gave them a standing ovation at the end. We both highly recommend this experience!
Fantastic experience and amazing performance from all! This show really does live up to the amazing reviews! Me and my mum loved it and had a wonderful evening.
Great production. Well acted. The setting in County Hall is perfect.
As usual, a superb Agatha Christie mystery preformed by the best actresses and actors London has to offer. The ending has a twist to die for. At times we were unable to understand the dialogue.
