To Kill a Mockingbird reviews
I thought it related well to our 21st century Black Lives Matter movement
If you get the chance go see this play, it’s fantastic.
I spent yesterday afternoon totally immersed in the story which Harper Lee created so long ago - a story which has more resonance today than ever. The whole production was mesmerising. The cast wove a spell around the audience and my tears were testimony to their skill. It was a memorable production and my congratulations go to the cast and the whole production team.
We really enjoyed the performance and the acting was superb.
Excellent production, very clever use of stage and scenery, great acting a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would reccommend it.
Wonderful adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird. Brilliantly cast, and Rafe Spall was perfectly cast as Atticus Finch. We were so caught up in the story, and could watch it all again tomorrow!
This was brilliant. Very powerful, totally captivating, and it did not disappoint. If you love the book, you’ll definitely love the play. I would highly recommend, so much so that I would see it again.
Not going to be very original or eloquent but had to say something in praise of To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm not a frequent theatre goer but this show is right at the top of my list and I cannot recommend it enough. A perfect razor sharp script, wonderful cast and clever, simple set made it a memorable time. It's long but the time just flew by and it ended all to soon! Go see!
A sensitive and clever portrayal of such a revered novel. Great performances by Rafe Spall as Atticus and Gwyneth Keyworth as Scout. Also loved the dynamic stage setting.
the only word to describe the performance is brilliant.
An outstanding cast & sumptuous set A superb cast - Rafe Spall gave a powerful & passionate performance - gave a flawless masterclass in stage acting Go see this play if you get a chance to - intense, powerful and emotional Outstanding
I took my 3 children (12, 13 and 14) to see the play last night. Myself and the older two loved it - the youngest struggled in places - I think with the southern accents more than anything. That, is our negative. Just that. Nothing else. From ease of booking to front of house staff, the toffee popcorn (kids wanted to mention that) to the production itself - nothing but praise. TKAM has been wonderfully re-interpreted to lead us away from the well known Gregory Peck film, to a fresh and intelligent look at Harper Lee's incredible story without losing it's essence, it's innocence, it's brilliance. The set/s and stage management were clever and seamlessly utilised. The casting was perfect. I would like to say Atticus was the stand out performance - but for us, it was Dill. Never a pivotal role in the film or book, nor indeed in this production, but written and acted with such perfection he became a character of far more gravitas. Never stealing the limelight, but always holding his own and crafting a new dimension in the character's role. He was a joy to watch! I would recommend this show to anyone (other than a 12 year old with accent interpretation difficulties). It's a true delight.
Powerful story adopted into an excellent play. The length is not an issue when preformed so we’ll.
Funny / poignant / sad / A script with so many astute observations of the human condition.
Although our expectations were high, we were not disappointed with this production of To Kill a Mockingbird. The acting was superb and the sets delightful.
This is undoubtedly the best play I’ve seen on a very long time!
One of the best theatre experiences I’ve had in a long while, and I obviously wasn’t alone in this view judging by the standing ovation that positively erupted as the play ended. Don’t miss this!
Outstanding production in every way.
Revisiting a book read many years ago, this production was a beautiful interpretation of the story with the characters bringing to life the essence of the tragedy of events. Brilliantly cast, honed performance, thoroughly recommend to all age groups
A brilliant cast and crew that made this a fabulous production. Thank you
A fantastic production which moved me to tears and kept me entranced throughout.
From the clever staging to the quality of acting of the entire cast, this was theatre on a grand scale. Raf Spall's controlled low key performance meant that when Atticus finally lets go of his emotions the effect was dynamic. So good to see a younger audience discovering the power of live theatre.
Absolutely brilliant night at the theatre.
